Brighter
There is a brighter world. For brief moments I see in color If I could only make those moments last But I have covenanted myself to the gray, Gray march of time forward, the void Devoid of meaning, save function. Green grass greener than any green, Sunlight filtering through the leaves With denial comes heightened senses Laughter filtered through the breeze A moment that lasts unending, Gambled away for my own captivity. Moments of indulgence when I ask Bravely, wondrously, longingly, How love and color hide together Just outside of my reach? There is no reply; but my own mind Won't tell me where I hid the key. © 2024 @StaceyBattlestheWorld
