Descent
Down to Morpheus we go not, now not now, with the way the world is; without memories there are no dreams just repetitions of things that were as they fade out fade away fade you’re fading away from Morpheus, away from dreams, descent into the earth. We go not, now not now, with the way the world is; ascent into the clouds - vast, airy clouds. Talking to you is sometimes like vast, airy clouds. We don’t know what you say anymore. We don’t know how we can help you anymore; more, we want. Always, more. © 2024 @StaceyBattlestheWorld
A Quick Note from Stacey -
Thank you, friends, for subscribing to my poetry emails! You’ve probably noticed I’ve been slowly condensing down from multiple emails a week down to now… just one weekly poem each weekend. Don’t worry, there’s still a large backlog of poetry on its way to you (plus all the new poems I’ve been writing!). It’s simply come to my attention that a weekly Substack should be, well, weekly… and that sometimes oversending a newsletter can actually overwhelm readers and make it less likely that all the emails get read. So, less is more - I’ll be sending this newsletter out around noon (ET) on Saturdays now for the foreseeable future.
As always, feel free to share the link, comment, or even reply! Let me know what you like, what you’re interested in, new topics you’d rather read poems about (particularly if I send too many dreary or love-sick poems in a row, hehe). I’m just super appreciative of my small community of poetry readers, and love sharing my art with you.
