Soft Now
Soft now. Quiet. Listen. There is breathing around. All around. Talk now, louder, shout – The world should not be so soft for a child. A child should hear laughter, music, calling Not the labored breathing of our lives. Speak, sing and let the world hear you, not it. And let the unhearing life go unheard Till another day passes us by. And later, much later, when the time is right And you have cries not struggled and helpless, Soft then. Quiet.
