This House
I see the way you look at me, appraisingly scrutinizing the shape of my vinyl siding as I walk by, sporting my new raincoat. See, my foundation is new, sinking quickly – I would have called in some men to fix it but I never thought I’d need them much; I’m pretty handy myself and honestly I don’t like the sweat and toil of men spoiling my garden on their lunch breaks and patronizingly asking me who does it better? when all along I know that it’s got to be me, because none of them ever made a dime of difference, anyway, without my help. Still, I see your eyes and I can’t help but consider letting you in for a look - you look pretty and handy yourself, but some days, some days I just don’t know if this house could contain the strength and ambitions of two women running it. © 2024 @StaceyBattlestheWorld
